CONCEALED CARRY WEAPONS COURSE (CCW)
Where:
Cochise Shooters offers the  Arizona CCW 8 hour class covering range safety, safe handling and storage of firearms, legal issues related to deadly force, contact with law enforcement, mental conditioning for use of deadly force, judgmental shooting, firearm manipulation, marksmanship, written test and qualification.  Upon successful completion of class individual will be eligible to obtain a CCW permit.

We also offer a free practical pistol workshop for those who participate in the CCW class.

After a date for the next class is decided we will notify everyone on the list.  You should then confirm by e-mail or phone if you plan to attend the class. 

The shooting part of the class requires that you shoot 5 rounds from 5 yards and 5 rounds from 10 yards at a silhouette target.  During your time on the firing line, safety is of paramount importance.  You must follow instructions.

 

When you leave class, you will have an envelope addressed to the Arizona Dept. of  Public Safety.  In this envelope will be a completed CCW Permit application and a finger print card.  You must go to the police station and get this card fingerprinted and signed.  You will be instructed to take the application to the post office within 30 days, purchase a Money Order or Cashier’s Check for $60.00 made out to the Arizona DPS, place the payment and completed fingerprint card and application in the envelope, seal the envelope, have it weighed and sent.

This CCW class is conducted by Bud Fraze, owner of Cochise Shooters, LLC.  Bud is an Arizona State Authorized CCW instructor.  He is an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer, NRA Certified Instructor for Home Firearm Safety, Protection in the Home and an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor. He is a Range Safety Officer for the Sierra Vista Range and is State Deputy Firearms Director for the Arizona Rangers.  He also coordinates a Defensive Pistol Workshop for the Cochise Shooters.  Bud is an IDPA competitor and is the Match Director for the Cochise Shooter's Defensive Pistol Match which takes place on the first Saturday of every month.

A workshop for further shooting instruction and practice will be offered to all participants free of charge.  Workshops are given the 4th Saturday of every month.  It is recommended that you take this workshop.  It is included in the price of your class.  Details for the  workshop can be found on our Practical Pistol Workshop page.

 

When you arrive at class you need to have:

·              A handgun (please leave it in your vehicle during class)

·              At least 10 rounds of ammunition for your handgun

·              A holster if you have one

·              Eye protection, ear plugs or ear muffs

·              A black ink pen

·             

Lunch.  You can bring your lunch or take the allotted time to get something in town.   You must be back in class on time.

Shooting portion will be at Sierra Vista Range.
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
$65.00.  Military discount $60.  We ask that the fee be paid no later than one week before the class is scheduled to secure your seat.  You do not have a seat in the class until your payment is received.
